Hilary Hahn Cancels Two Recitals
Two all-Brahms programs with pianist Andreas Haefliger in Charlottesville and Toronto have been postponed indefinitely
Violinist Hilary Hahn has canceled two recitals this week on account of illness. The three-time GRAMMY Award-winner wrote on social media, "I’m sorry to report that I won’t be able to perform my recitals in Charlottesville and Toronto this week due to a sudden respiratory illness that I have to take seriously so I can be back onstage in good health soon."
"I hope to be able to make it up to you in the coming seasons!" she added.
Hahn was scheduled to play all three Brahms violin sonatas alongside pianist Andreas Haefliger at the Paramount Theater in Charlottesville on June 4, and then at Koerner Hall at Toronto's The Royal Conservatory on June 6. Both appearances have been postponed indefinitely.
Ticket-holders for these concerts should contact the individual promoters in the first instance.
Hahn was recently appointed as a Visiting Professor at London's Royal Academy of Music.
Firmly established as a top-tier soloist, Hilary Hahn regularly appears with the world's foremost orchestras and conductors, as well as in solo recitals and as a player of chamber music.
She has also released a total of 22 discs and commissioned many new works —some of them compiled onto the album In 27 Pieces: The Hilary Hahn Encores.
