St Paul Chamber Orchestra Announce Newest Viola Recruit

The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra has announced the appointment of 25 year old South Korean-born violist Hyobi Sim - as the newest member to join the Minnesota-based chamber ensemble.

A graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music, where she studied with Roberto Diaz, Hyobi is a former prize winner at the Lionel Tertis International Violin Competition.

‘Hyobi was extremely impressive throughout the intensive audition and trial process … ’ the group's Senior Director of Artistic Planning, Kyu-Young Kim has said, “... because of the small intimate nature of our ensemble, it is even more crucial that each and every member can step up with a solo line, blend harmoniously into the section, play chamber music on the highest level - and inspire their colleagues.”
