The opening round candidates have been announced for the 2019 il Piccolo Violino Magico International Competition – to be held in San Vito al Tagliamento, Italy from the 3rd to 7th of July, 2019.
The opening round candidates are:

- Ilva Eigus (Switzerland)
- Teo Gertler (Slovakia)
- Madeline Goh (Singapore)
- Mateusz Izdebski (Poland)
- Theodor Kaskiv (France)
- Sofiia Kysliak (Ukraine)
- Lira Masuda (United States)
- Flavia Napolitano (Italy)
- Amanda Vatn Noor (Norway)

- Yejin Kim (South Korea)
Open to violinists of any nationality aged 9-13, the 1st prize winner will receive €5,000, an instrument made by contemporary Italian violin maker, Fabio Piagentini – plus a number of important European concert engagements.
The 2019 violin jury will comprise: Pavel Vernikov (President), Viktor Tretyakov, Sophie Rachlin, Mariana Sirbu, Laura Gorna, Dong-Suk Kang and Sergej Krylov.
