Intermusica Agency Appoints New Head of Vocal and Opera
Nathan Morrison will assume the role at the classical music agency as of August 1, 2024
The London-based artist management agency Intermusica has hired Nathan Morrison as its new Head of Vocal & Opera, beginning on August 1, 2024. The appointment will also see Morrison join Intermusica’s Board of Directors.
Morrison will succeed Julia Maynard, who has served the role for 18 years, spearheading the development of Intermusica’s Vocal & Opera division and contributing to the company’s international expansion.
Though Maynard is leaving her positions as Head of Department and Deputy Chief Executive, she will remain as part of the team as a Director within the department to continue her involvement with artists on her roster and providing strategic career guidance.
“My time leading the Vocal & Opera team has been the pinnacle of my career, and I have enjoyed every moment, especially mentoring and supporting so many gifted managers along the way,” Maynard said in the press release. “When Stephen Lumsden and I met Nathan Morrison two years ago, we immediately recognised his potential as a future leader in the company. I am delighted to be able to pass on the Head of Department baton, knowing that not only is the department in safe hands but will also have a bold and dynamic future.”
“It is a tremendous privilege to be asked to become Head of Vocal & Opera and to join the Intermusica Board of Directors,” Morrison expressed. “I consider it an honor to work with such talented, knowledgeable, and dedicated colleagues, and to have the opportunity to build upon the incredible work that Julia has done over the past 18 years. Intermusica is an exciting and ambitious company, and I look forward to contributing further to its future successes.”
“Nathan Morrison is an exceptional artist manager and, since joining the company, has signed 15 major talents to the roster,” added Stephen Lumsden, Intermusica’s Founder and Chief Executive. “I am confident that he will bring his expertise and passion for the profession to his leadership of the team, continuing to build our Vocal & Opera roster, and propelling the department to new heights. I would like to thank Julia Maynard enormously for her extraordinary contribution to the company as Head of Department and Deputy Chief Executive, and I know that she will continue to create important opportunities for her artists in her ongoing role.”
