Czech Violinist Jan Mracek Awarded 1st Prize at Kreisler International Violin Competition

23 year old Jan Mracek, from the Czech Republic has been awarded 1st prize at the 2014 Fritz Kreisler International Violin Competition, in Vienna, Austria.
2nd prize was awarded to 21 year old VC 'Young Artist' William Hagen, from the United States – and 3rd prize presented to 19 year old VC 'Young Artist' Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, from Austria.
A student of Jiří Fišer and Professor Jan Pospíchal, Jan is a former prize winner at the Jaroslav Kocian, Hardec and Prague Springs International Violin Competitions.
He will receive 15,000 EU (USD $19,400), a CD recording, career management and support and a coveted solo engagement with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
