Israel's Jerusalem Symphony Announces New Music Director

The Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra has announced the appointment of American conductor Steven Sloane as its new Music Director

The Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, in Jerusalem, Israel, has today announced the appointment of American conductor Steven Sloane as its new Music Director - effective from the commencement of the 2020-2021 season.

Maestro Sloane, 61, has served as long term Music Director of the Bochum Symphony Orchestra - and has previously held principal positions with the Opera North and the Stavanger Symphony.

He will succeed conductor Fréderic Chaslin in the role.
