Josef Špaček Signs with Intermusica Deutschland
The Czech violinist is gaining attention as a soloist since he stood down from his position in the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra in 2020
Czech violinist Josef Špaček is the latest violinist to sign with the German branch of the London-based management agency Intermusica. He will be represented locally in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland by Dennis Gerlach.
As well as leading the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, he also appeared with them as a soloist on numerous occasions and recorded a disc featuring the concerti of Dvořák and Janáček under conductor Jiří Bělohlávek.
Špaček stepped down from this position in 2020 and has been focusing on his solo career since that time. He has appeared with the Bamberg Symphony, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, and the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, among others.
Špaček studied with Itzhak Perlman at The Juilliard School, as well as with Ida Kavafian and Jaime Laredo at the Curtis Institute of Music.
