Musicians of the orchestra played in “Fountains & Fanfares,” a benefit concert supporting People’s Pride Kansas City
Members of the Kansas City Symphony recently performed in “Fountains & Fanfares,” a program of seven classical works composed exclusively by transgender musicians in support of People’s Pride Kansas City.
Composers in the program included Zoe Cutler, Han Hitchen, inti figgis-vizueta, Lj White, and Sasha Romero.
The performances feature a string quartet, brass quintet, solo voice, pipe organ, mixed wind ensemble, and solo trombone.
Hosted by the Country Club Christian Church, this inaugural benefit concert helped fund the third annual People’s Pride, a grassroots parade and free festival self-organized by queer and trans Kansas Citians.
