Hevhetia Records has this month announced the release of Chinese violinist Kehan Zhang and guitarist Niklas Johansen's new album: Paganini and Piazzolla.

The disc features an assortment of violin and guitar duo works by Paganini, Piazzolla, Zenamon and Elgar - including Paganini's Cantabile and Sonata Concertata and Piazzolla's Histoire du Tango. 

"Paganini was a virtuoso on both violin and guitar and as such wrote many duo pieces for the instruments ... and they are so much fun to play ..." Kehan has told The Violin Channel.

"Another genius, Piazzolla, who was born much later, also wrote for this combination - but obviously with a much more modern style and with such beautiful Tango flair ... " he has said.

"I personally feel that even though Paganini and Piazzolla lived in completely different time periods, and they composed in completely different style, the are intrinsically linked by their passion and love for music."
