We're coming to you from the Kronberg Academy in Kronberg im Taunus, Germany, for the weekly concert of the Kronberg Academy Young Virtuosi Series, featuring violist Hayang Park. For this concert, entitled Inspirations, Hayang is joined by violinist Stephen Kim and pianist Anna Naretto.
Every Wednesday at 12 PM (ET), audiences can watch an hour-long concert featuring the Kronberg Academy's students from the Professional Studies program and the Sir András Schiff Performance Program for Young Pianists. Recorded at the Carl Bechstein Hall, the recital programs were designed by the young artists themselves, and often feature their friends from the Academy’s Bachelor and Master programs performing alongside them.

Born in Seoul in 1998, Hayang Park started playing the viola at an early age and has established herself as an accomplished musician with numerous competition wins, including 2022 the 5th Tokyo Competition, where she recently won first prize.
At the age of 13, Park attended the Yewon School of Arts and later went on to complete her university studies at Yonsei University in South Korea, under Professor Sang-Jin Kim, and received a bachelor's degree in 2019. From 2018 to 2021, she studied at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid, under the guidance of renowned violist Nobuko Imai, supported by a scholarship from the Fundación Albeniz.
At twelve years old she won the Concours International de musique et d'art dramatique Léopold Bellan. In 2017 she took third prize in the string section of the 15th Tokyo Music Competition, and performed Hindemith’s viola concerto “Der Schwanendreher” together with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. She has also won numerous prizes in her native Korea, including the Chun-chu Music Competition and the Seoul National Philharmonic Competition.
Most recently, she performed with the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra and joined the 2023 'Musicians from Marlboro' North America tour, which took place in major cities such as New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and Boston.
Since October 2021, Hayang has been studying at Kronberg Academy with Nobuko Imai, funded by the Ulla Minners/Lore Buscher patronage. She is additionally supported by Jan Kleinewefers.
