London's Royal Opera House Celebrates LGBTQ+ Members

Guided tours will be hosted to recognize contributions made by LGBTQ+ figures, from composers to choreographers, across the opera house’s history

The return of guided tours by the Royal Opera House (ROH) includes for the first time, the Pride of the ROH Tour.

The Pride tour is centered around LGBTQ+ icons who have played an important role in shaping ROH’s history. Gender-fluid performances plus queer themes and productions will also be explored.

The Pride of the ROH tour will begin on September 11 and will continue until November 15, 2021. The tour itself is a little over an hour-long, with tickets costing 16 pounds.

"At the Royal Opera House we strongly believe that the contribution of our LGBTQ+ colleagues both past and present should be celebrated all year round," said Gabriela Gandolfini, Head of Visitor Experience.

"Although this year’s Pride in London is sadly canceled, we are incredibly proud to launch our new Pride tour, dedicated to exploring queer themes, productions, and the lives of those who have helped fundamentally shape our artistic legacy."
