It has been announced today that the UK-based Schubert Ensemble is set to disband at the end of the 2017/18 season - after 35 years of collaboration.
Comprising violinist Simon Blendis, violist Douglas Peterson, cellist Jane Salmon, double bassist Peter Buckoke and pianist William Howard, the ensemble’s final performance will take place on March 21st, 2018 at London’s Wigmore Hall.
"We are thrilled to have such an exciting season ahead …," the ensemble has said.
“It will be one of mixed emotions, as we visit some wonderful venues for the last time, say goodbye to many promoters who have become good friends to the ensemble ... and perform many of our favourite pieces for the final time together.”
