Manchester Baroque to Support the Earthquake Victims in Syria and Turkey
Half of every ticket to a February 25 concert will go to support the work of the Disasters Emergency Committee
The only professional early music ensemble based in the City of Manchester, England, Manchester Baroque will present its Spring concert on February 25. Supported by the Continuo Foundation, the concert will feature music from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.
The ensemble saw an opportunity to use this event to help those in need. Their concert is also a "Spring into Action" in support of the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Appeal to support the victims of last week’s tragic earthquake in Turkey and Syria. Fifty percent of all ticket sales will go to support this vital work. Tickets are available here.
"We’re really looking forward to our concert on the eve of Spring, but we know that thousands of people in Turkey and Syria are in desperate need," the ensemble wrote. "So we’ve decided to spring into action, standing in solidarity with those who need support. We’re delighted to be able to give half of the ticket income we receive to the DEC Earthquake campaign. We hope as many people as possible will come and join us knowing that you’ll be enjoying wonderful music and contributing to a great cause."
Formed in 2019, Manchester Baroque focuses on the historical performance of early music on period instruments.
