Mexican Mariachi Legend Don Jose "Pepe" Martínez Has Died

Mexican composer, arranger and violinist Don José “Pepe” Martínez has passed away, from complications of diabetes and pneumonia - aged 74.

Remembered as one of the greats of the contemporary mariachi music scene, he served as long term Music Director of the Mexican folk ensemble, Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán.
