Meadowmount School of Music Announces 2025 Guest Artists
Among the guest artists include violist Kim Kashkashian and the Kronos Quartet
Founded in 1944 by violin pedagogue Ivan Galamian, the Meadowmount School of Music offers a seven-week summer program in the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York for aspiring professional string players.
Meadowmount accepts approximately 200 students, from age 13 to those over 30, who are offered weekly private lessons, chamber music coachings, and daily masterclasses by renowned artists and faculty.
The 2025 guest artists are violinist Ani Kavafian, violists Kim Kashkashian and Molly Carr, cellists Colin Carr and Tommy Mesa, and the Kronos Quartet, which will oversee the chamber music sessions.
They will join the 2025 faculty, including violists Caroline Coade and Ayane Kozasa; cellists Hans Jørgen Jensen, Wei Yu, and Thomas Landschoot; violinists I-Hao Lee, Paul Kantor, Gerardo Ribeiro, Ann Setzer, and Janet Sung; plus chamber music coaches Steven Rochen, Patricia Sunwoo, and Wei Yu.
Alongside individual lessons, students will perform in three on-campus concerts each week and also benefit from yoga classes and Alexander Technique workshops.
“We’re thrilled to announce an incredible lineup of guest artists joining us this summer,” the school posted on Instagram. “From inspiring masterclasses to brilliant concerts, these world-class musicians are bringing their artistry to the Meadowmount stage — and we can’t wait to share it with you.”
Former Meadowmount students include Itzhak Perlman, Ani and Ida Kavafian, Kyung-Wha and Myung-Wha Chung, Jesse Montgomery, Rachel Barton Pine, Pinchas Zukerman, Jaime Laredo, Michael Rabin, Yo-Yo Ma, Lynn Harrell, Joshua Bell, and James Ehnes.
