Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Has Stepped Down
American violinist Eoin Andersen has stepped down as Co-Concertmaster from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra - effective immediately
It has been announced today that American violinist Eoin Andersen has stepped down as Co-Concertmaster from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra - effective immediately.
“Since joining the MSO in 2015, Eoin has brought a level of originality and personality to both his Concertmaster solos and performances … he contributed inventive and original programming ideas and worked closely with his Co-Concertmaster, Dale Barltrop …” the Australian orchestra has said.
“We thank him for the contributions he has made to the MSO during his time with us and wish him all the very best for the future.”
Eoin previously served as a long-time member of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra and previously held the Principal Second Violin position with the Zurich Opera Orchestra before taking up the Co-Concertmaster role with the Melbourne Symphony in 2015.
