Germany's Mittenwald Violin Making Competition Announces 2022 Winners
The prestigious lutherie competition is held once every four years
The ninth edition of the Mittenwald International Violinmaking Competition recently come to a close. The competition sees a ten-person jury assess some of the world's best violins, violas, cellos, and bows, all of which must have been made within the last two years.
The competition was attended by 161 violin and bow makers, who hailed from a total of 25 different countries.
The jury was comprised of Hieronymus Köstler, Roland Baumgartner, Serge Stam, Christoph Graff, Silvio Levaggi, Klaus Grünke, Stéphane Thomachot, Tim Vogler, Péter Bársony, and Kerstin Feltz.
