Israeli violinist Ohad Cohen has recently passed his trial
Violinist Ohad Cohen has recently been confirmed as a full member of the Munich Philharmonic's first violin section, having recently passed his trial with the orchestra.
Originally from Haifa, Israel, Cohen studied at the Tel Aviv Conservatory in the class of Nava Milo and continued to learn from her during his undergraduate studies at the Buchman-Mehta School of Music, Tel Aviv. Cohen then received his Master’s degree from the Hochschule für Musik Leipzig, in the class of Prof. Tatjana Masurenko.
Cohen was a member of the Berliner Philharmoniker's Karajan Academy since 2017, where his teacher was Christian Stadelmann.
Previously, he has taken part in the David Goldman program for outstanding young musicians of the Jerusalem Music Center, where he also served as the concertmaster of the Young Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra. In Israel, he appeared as a soloist with the Jerusalem Radio orchestra, Ramat Gan orchestra, Petah Tiqwa Camerata, and the army orchestra.
"Congratulations to Ohad Cohen," the orchestra wrote on social media. "He just passed his trial in our 1st Violin section! We are so happy to welcome you in our orchestra family, Ohad."
