NEW TO YOUTUBE | Hermitage Piano Trio Performs a Tribute to Ukraine
The Hermitage Piano Trio has recorded and released a musical tribute to the people of Ukraine. The group performs the first known piano trio arrangement of composer Myroslav Skoryk's "Melody," which was originally written for the film High Pass in 1981. Skoryk, a renowned Ukrainian composer, passed away in June 2020.
The trio is made up of violinist Misha Keylin, cellist Sergey Antonov, and pianist Ilya Kazantsev, and has been together for over a decade. In 2019 the group's first album, entitled "Rachmaninoff," received a GRAMMY nomination for Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance.
"This video was made to once again show support of the Ukrainian people," wrote violinist Misha Keylin. "The Trio repeats its plea and hope that this unjustified and devastating invasion stops immediately," he added.
