The complete work for violin and piano was recorded by the four finalists of the 7th “Getting to Carnegie” Competition

Each of the four 2021 finalists, violinists VC Young Artist Maria Dueñas, Sory Park, Angela Chan, and Sophia Stoyanovich, premiered a different movement of the new work.

Julian Gargiulo, the Pianist with the Hair, composed the "From the Window" sonata during the long months of the lockdown, with the idea that only when we look outside our windows, figuratively and literally, can we come together to find the common experience of being alive.
