We’re coming to you this week from Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis for the Minnesota Orchestra’s "A New Year’s Celebration"

Opening the orchestra's three-week festival spotlighting Finnish composers, the event was conducted by Music Director Osmo Vänskä.

VC Artist Stella Chen performed Sibelius’ "Humoresques" coupled with Sibelius’ 2nd and 7th Symphonies.

Stella stepped in to replace soprano Helena Juntunen due to travel and visa restrictions.

“I left my heart in Minnesota with the most beautiful and giving musicians of the Minnesota Orchestra,” Stella said.

“I also found out just today that I spent the first seven months of my life in Minnesota inside my mom’s belly! I never knew that before!”
