Association of Performing Arts Professionals Announces Carnegie Hall Showcase Program

The selected emerging players will have the opportunity to perform for concert presenters, agents, managers, and record company representatives at the annual concert

The Association of Performing Arts Professionals (APAP) recently announced that nine young players have been selected to appear at Carnegie Hall as part of the annual showcase for the organization's Young Performers Career Advancement program (YPCA).

The selected players are the Dior Quartet (Noa Sarid, Tobias Elser, Caleb Georges, and Joanne Yesol Choi), flutist Amir Hoshang Farsi, violinist Njioma Chinyere Grevious, pianist Maxim Lando, bass-baritone Joseph Parrish, and pianist Clayton Stephenson.

These young players follow in the footsteps of musicians such as Gabriel Cabezas, Valerie Coleman, Tessa Lark, Parker Quartet, Pacifica Quartet, Imani Winds, and Eighth Blackbird — all of whom appeared in YPCA showcases in the early part of their careers.

One of the principal purposes of the showcase is for the emerging talents to perform for global arts leaders, performing arts presenters, managers, record company representatives — all of whom will have descended on New York to attend APAP's conference.

As well as the showcase, the players will participate in tailored professional development sessions, with a particular focus on the presenting and touring industry as well as audience engagement.

YPCA's showcase will take place on Monday, January 15, 2024.

"Throughout its 27-year history, APAP’s YPCA program has been an important catalyst for the burgeoning of promising careers for hundreds of classical musicians and performers," said Lisa Richards Toney, APAP's president and CEO. "APAP is proud to serve as this launch pad and introduce these young, talented artists to the many representatives leading and booking for venues across North America."
