OUT NOW | Alina Ibragimova's New CD: "Paganini: 24 Caprices"
The album features Niccolo Paganini's 24 Caprices, works that are known for their technical virtuosity and difficulty
Hyperion Records announced the release of violinist Alina Ibragimova's new album, "Paganini: 24 Caprices."
The album features the 24 solo violin caprices by Niccolo Paganini. These were the only works published during Paganini's lifetime — and allegedly only to prove that no one else could play them.
The album was recorded in London during April and May of 2020. Ibragimova said that the initial COVID-19 lockdown gave her the time to finally practice and record the caprices, a project she has wanted to complete for a long time.
"The works gave me a lot of satisfaction and pure enjoyment due to their endless charm and humor — something I think I really needed in those tough times," Ibragimova told The Violin Channel. "I hope the listener can enjoy the wit and the natural beauty that is so present amongst all the virtuosity of these pieces. For me, they show so much of what a character Paganini really was."
