Orfeo Records has announced the release of German cellist Daniel Müller-Schott's new album: 'Strauss - Don Quixote'
Orfeo Records has this month announced the release of German cellist Daniel Müller-Schott's new album: 'Strauss - Don Quixote'.
Recorded with pianist Herbert Schuch, conductor Sir Andrew Davis and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the disc features Richard Strauss' Cello Sonata in F Major and Don Quixote - coupled with newly premiered cello arrangements of Strauss' operatic works Zueignung and Ich trage meine Minne.
"In less than ten years, Strauss went from being a talented youth with a traditional education to a musician of the future ... and I hope this disc can show this span ..." Daniel has told The Violin Channel.
"Strauss has always created great eloquence and lyricism for the string instrument by using the human voice as the point of orientation ... so I found it particular inspiring to transcribe for the cello these two great operatic masterworks," he has said.
