OUT NOW | Violinist Maria Sławek's New CD: 'Rejoice!' [LISTEN]

CD Accord announced the release of Polish-born violinist Maria Sławek's new album: 'Rejoice'

CD Accord announced the release of Polish-born violinist Maria Sławek's new album: 'Rejoice'.

Recorded with cellist Marcin Zdunik, the disc features Bach's 15 'Inventions' (arr. for violin & cello), Ysaÿe's 2nd Solo Violin Sonata, Penderecki's 'Ciaccona' (arr. violin & cello) -  and Sofia Gubaidulina's 'Rejoice' Sonata for Violin & Cello.

''We were inspired by the idea of dialogue ... the conversation between the two of us and between our two instruments and also between the composers whose works we have recorded ..." Maria has this month told The Violin Channel.

''We hope that the listeners will enjoy our approach towards certain notable pieces, such as Bach's two-part Inventions (which we arranged for violin and cello) but also feel inspired by the less known and fascinating multi-layered works of Penderecki and Gubaidulina ..." she has said.

"After listening to our album, our hope is listeners will share our urge to ask crucial questions - and to take more time to reflect upon the spiritual aspects of life.''

Rejoice!
