Delos has announced the launch of violist Paul Neubauer and pianist Margo Garrett’s new CD: ‘Ernest Bloch: Music for Viola and Piano’

Delos Records has this month announced the launch of violist Paul Neubauer and pianist Margo Garrett’s new album: ‘Ernest Bloch: Music for Viola and Piano’.

The all-Bloch disc features the ‘Suite for Viola and Piano’ (1919), ‘Suite for Viola Solo’ (1958), ‘Suite Hebraique’ (1951) and the ‘Meditation and Processional’ (1951).

“In 2001, I recorded all of Ernest Bloch’s works for viola and piano with my fabulous long time collaborator, pianist Margo Garrett … but much to our dismay, the tapes from those recording sessions were lost …” Paul has told The Violin Channel.

“Fifteen years later the tapes resurfaced … and we were thrilled not only to find them viable but truly representative of our best efforts with which we brought these favorite works to life so long ago …” he has said.

“All violists are grateful to Ernest Bloch for writing many wonderful works … as he had a gift for bringing out the depth and soul of the instrument.”
