The Philadelphia Orchestra has this week announced the launch of a new classical music digital portal, called ‘Orchestra on Demand’ - offering unprecedented access to live and historical performances by the ensemble.
The on-demand service will offer a selection of concerts from current and past Philadelphia Orchestra seasons - including archival performances led by former Music Director Wolfgang Sawallisch.
“The Philadelphia Orchestra is proud to once again seize an opportunity offered by evolving technology …” Orchestra CEO Allison Vulgamore has said.
“Technology provides the means, and we have worked with our musicians to develop a new way for those who love the Philadelphia Orchestra to enjoy these performances over and over again …” she has said.
Full access to the site is available to any person who donates or purchases tickets to the value of $50 or more per year.
