Piccolo Violino Magico Competition Announces 2024 Finalists
Open to violinists up to age 13, the international competition will name a winner on July 7
The Piccolo Violino Magico Competition is organized in three rounds and is currently taking place at the Auditorium Comunale in San Vito al Tagliamento.
Final round competitors will perform with the FVG Orchestra and Maestro Giancarlo Guarino. The final concert and award ceremony will be held on July 7, 2024. The entire competition is being streamed LIVE on The Violin Channel.
The four finalists include Yunduo Li, Margaryta Pochebut, Hyunsuk Ryu, and Baiyi Tao.
The jury, with President Pavel Vernikov, includes Sophie Besancon, Anna-Liisa Bezrodny, Nazareno Carusi, Maja Jokanovic, Sunny Lee, and Yuan Tian.
The first prize winner of the Piccolo Violino Magico Competition will receive a scholarship worth €5,000 and a violin made by contemporary Italian luthier Fabio Piagentini, valued at €9,000.
The second prize is worth €3,000, the third prize is €2,000, and the fourth prize is €1,000. This year’s four finalists will also receive a personalized string workshop with Larsen Strings plus one year of string supplies.
