IMG Artists, London, has this week announced the signing of 29 year old Spanish violinist and conductor Roberto González-Monjas to their roster – for worldwide general management representation.
A graduate of the Salzburg Mozarteum University and the Guildhall School of Music, where he studied with Igor Ozim and David Takeno, Roberto has served as concertmaster of the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, the Musikkollegium Winterthur and the Verbier Festival Orchestra.
He has also guest led the Philharmonia Orchestra, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, Les Musiciens Du Louvre-Grenoble, Bayerische Kammerphilharmonie, the Manchester Camerata and the Barcelona and Galician Symphony Orchestras.
“I can’t wait to start this new and exciting chapter of my life with their mentorship and IMG’s vast expertise … I am so grateful for this opportunity,” Roberto has said.
“From the first time I met Roberto and saw him in action at the Verbier Festival a few years ago, I was immediately taken by his talent and his genuine passion for music … since then I have been observing Roberto’s activities and development, and I am really delighted that this has now resulted in Roberto joining IMG Artists for general management,” IMG Artists manager Nicholas Mathias has said.
Roberto’s upcoming performances include a number of play-direct, chamber music and conducting projects with the Musikkollegium Winterthur, Iberacademy Orchestra and the Lucerne Easter Festival – and conducting engagements with the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine, Orquesta Joven de la Sinfónica de Galicia and the Orquesta Sinfonica de Castilla y Leon.
