Prizes Awarded at Italy’s Lipizer International Violin Competition

31 year old Jung Yoon Yang from South Korea has been awarded 1st prize at the 36th 2017 Premio Rodolfo Lipizer International Violin Competition, in Gorizia, Italy.

A graduate student of Professor Pierre Amoyal at the Salzburg Mozarteum, Jung Yoon is a former 1st prize winner at the Sion-Valais Tibor Varga and Torun International Violin Competitions.

She will receive €12,000 (US $13,500) and a number of important European concert engagements.

2nd and 3rd prizes were awarded to Vasyl Zatsikha from Ukraine – and Daichi Nakamura from Japan.

4th, 5th and 6th prizes were awarded to Diana Pasko from Russia, David Ardukhanian from Russia and Laura Delgado Casado from Spain.

This year’s jury comprised: Piero Niro (Chair), Ole Bohn, José del Castillo, Maki Itoi, Raid Kudsa, Donal Maurice and Piercarlo Sacco.
