Prizewinners Announced at the Carl Flesch International Violin Competition
Violinist Eun Che Kim of Korea was awarded First Prize at this year's edition
The 14th edition of the Carl Flesch International Violin Competition, which was held in Mosonmagyaróvár, Hungary between June 4 and June 11, recently come to a close.
First Prize was awarded to violinist Eun Che Kim of Korea, who studied at the Seoul National University for the Arts and then with Kolja Blacher at Berlin's Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler." Kim is also a laureate of the Novosibirsk International Violin Competition (Second Prize) and the International Johannes Brahms Competition (Third Prize).
Second Prize went to the French-Australian violinist Sara Ispas, who began studying with her father Daniel Ispas at the age of nine. She is currently a student of Oleg Kaskiv at the International Menuhin Music Academy in Switzerland — and her latest awards include 2nd Prize at the Kloster Schontal International Competition and 3rd Prize at Leonid Kogan International Competition in 2022.
Third Prize was awarded to Maya Kasprzak of Japan, Germany, and Poland. Born in 2005, Kasprzak was the winner of the Wanda Wiłkomirska Polish Violin Music Competition.
Members of the international jury include Márta Ábrahám (President), Réka Szilvay, Hagai Shaham, Kirill Troussov, and Balázs Horváth.
Previous first-prize winners at the competition include VC Artist Lara Boschkor and Nagao Haruka.

"We are very grateful to the participating competitors for creating wonderful moments for us during the last 8 days!"
