Prizewinners Announced at the Concours International de Musique de Chambre de Lyon
The seventeenth edition of Lyon's international chamber music competition, the Concours International de Musique de Chambre de Lyon, has recently come to an end.
Each year, the competition centers around one particular type of chamber music ensemble, including piano trios, violin-piano duos, voice-piano duos, cello-piano duos, woodwind quintets, and string quartets. In 2022, the focus was on the cello-piano duo.
First prize was awarded to Duo Domo, which consists of cellist Domonkos Hartmann and pianist Domonkos Csabay. They were awarded the sum of €10,000, and also received the Public Prize, which was voted for by the audience.
In second place was Duo Ermitage (cellist Paul-Marie Kuzma and pianist Ionah Maiatsky), with Duo Michel-Boullenois ( cellist Albéric Boullenois, and pianist Aude Michel) taking out third place. Duo Ermitage also picked up the "Prix Belle Saison" while Duo Michel-Boullenois were given the prize for the best interpretation.
The jury was comprised of Alexander Rudin, Eliso Virsaladze, Emmanuelle Bertrand, Frans Helmerson, Marie-Josèphe Jude, Nabil Shehata, and Stefan Mendl.
