Quatuor Arod to Cancel U.S. Tour Following Visa Issue
Despite applying for work permits in July 2023, the group did not receive their documentation early enough for the tour to proceed
France's Quatuor Arod has reluctantly canceled its upcoming tour of the United States because of visa issues. Despite applying for their work permits as early as July 2023, the quartet has still not received the necessary documentation — and therefore the tour will not be able to proceed.
Comprising Jordan Victoria and Alexandre Vu (violins), Tanguy Parisot (viola), and Jérémy Garbarg (cello), Quatuor Arod was formed in 2013 at the Conservatoire de Paris, where they studied with Jean Sulem and Quatuor Ébène. They won First Prize at both the Carl Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition (2015) and the ARD Competition in Munich (2016).
The group has performed internationally at venues such as the Philharmonie de Paris, the Wigmore Hall in London, the Berliner Philharmonie, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and Carnegie Hall in New York. Their latest album, "Debussy – Ravel – Attahir: String Quartets," was recently released on Erato Warner Classics.
"The Arod Quartet sincerely apologizes for having to cancel our US tour especially to our public in La Jolla, Gainesville, [and] Charlottesville," the ensemble wrote in a statement.
"We are determined to reschedule these concerts in the future, and in the meantime, we thank you for your understanding and your continued support," they continued. "We cannot wait to perform for you soon!"
