The Quatuor Ebène has today announced the appointment of Marie Chilemme as their new violist - effective immediately.
A graduate of the National Superior Conservatory of Music, Ozawa Academy, the Hochschule for Musik Hanns Eisler and the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, Marie is a former member of the acclaimed Cavatine Quartet.
"Dear friends … it’s with great pleasure we announce the arrival of Marie Chilemme to the Quatour Ébène … a beautiful musician and comrade,” the ensemble has said.
“... Marie brings us an energy, a joy and a wisdom that makes us double our motivation, creativity and inspiration.”
The 29 year old French-born violist will replace Adrien Boisseau who has left the ensemble, after 3 seasons, to pursue a solo career.
“We wish Adrien all our best wishes for success and achievement,” the group has said.
Founded in 1999 at the Boulogne-Billancourt Conservatory in France, the ensemble shot to international fame in 2004 - after clean sweeping the Quartet prizes at the ARD International Music Competition.
