Rome Classic Violin Competition Releases Finalists
Ten violinists are competing for two spots in the Classic Violin Olympus, to be held in Dubai in April 2025
As part of the Classic Violin Olympus International Competition, finalists have been selected for the Final Round of the Rome Classic Violin Competition, which is currently taking place at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone.
For the first round, candidates performed their renditions of one of Niccolò Paganini's 24 caprices of their choice, followed by the first movement of a concerto by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, chosen from a predetermined list, and the captivating Violin Sonata by Composer-in-Residence Alexey Shor and Mikhail Pletnev.
The final round participants of the Rom Classic Violin Competition are:

- Haik Kazazyan
- Issey Kurihara
- Teofil Milenkovic
- Sueye Park
- Qingzhu Weng
The jury included Jury Chairman Pavel Vernikov (Switzerland), Sarah Nemtanu (France), Tedi Papavrami (Albania/Switzerland), Valeriy Sokolov (Ukraine/Germany), and Ulf Wallin (Sweden/Germany).
These 10 violinists will compete for awards in the €35,000 prize pool; the top two will go on to win entry to the invite-only Classic Violin Olympus, which will be held in Dubai from April 22–28, 2025 — this event will feature €310,000 of prizes, plus other awards and opportunities. In Dubai, each violinist will get the opportunity to highlight their individuality with a virtuoso piece for violin solo or accompanied by piano, within a 30-40 minute timeframe.
