Legendary Soviet-born conductor Gennady Rozhdestvensky has passed away – aged 87
Legendary Soviet-born conductor Gennady Rozhdestvensky has passed away – aged 87.
A piano and conducting graduate of the Moscow Conservatory, he served as Chief Conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Bolshoi Theatre, Vienna Symphony and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic.
Thorough-out his almost 7 decade career, he recorded more than 750 works.
