Double Bass virtuoso Fernando Grillo has sadly taken his own life – aged 68

A student of Corrado Penta, Maestro Grillo was a former 1st prize winner at the Gaudeamus International Contemporary Music Competition - and was often described as 'The Paganini of the Double Bass'

It's being reported Mr Grillo jumped from an open office building window

Our condolences are with his family, friends and colleagues
