The competitor order and opening round schedule has today been announced at the 2016 inaugural Shanghai Isaac Stern International Violin Competition, in Shanghai, China – including VC Young Artists Richard Lin and Zeyu Victor Li.

The 1st prize winner will receive an unprecedented US $100,000.

For the opening round, each candidate will present a Solo Bach Sonata, a Paganini Caprice, Mozart's Violin Sonata in E Minor - and a Ysaye Solo Sonata.

JURY

The 2016 jury will comprise: David Stern (Co-Chairperson) Vera Tsu Weiling (Co-Chairperson), Boris Kuschnir, David Cerone, Daniel Heifetz, Zakhar Bron, Maxim Vengerov, Martin Engstroem, Emmanuel Hondré, Elmar Oliveira, Jian Wang, Zhenshan Wang and Lina Yu.

The competition, in a landmark decision earlier this year, announced they would provide full transparency of the 2016 competition scoring process – pledging to make 100% public each of the individual jurors’ scores and comments.
