Applications are now open for the 7th Sendai International Violin Competition – to be held in Sendai, Japan from the 15th to the 30th of June, 2019

Applications are now open for the 2019 7th Sendai International Violin Competition – to be held in Sendai, Japan from the 15th to the 30th of June, 2019.

Open to international violinists born on or after the 1st of January, 1991, the 1st prize winner will receive ¥3,000,000 (USD $27,000), a CD recording - plus a number of important debut opportunities.

Previous 1st prize winners include: VC Young Artists Richard Lin and Yoo Jin Jang.

The 2018 jury will comprise: Horigome Yuzuko, Hori Masafumi, Boris Belkin, Olivier Charlier, Rodney Friend, Kato Tomoko, Younguck Kim, Gidon Kremer, Cho-Liang Lin, Joel Smirfnoff, Isabelle Van Keulen and Matsuyama Saeka.
