Sir Andrew Davis Extends Commitment with Melbourne To 2019

It has been announced today that British conductor Sir Andrew Davis will extend his original four-year tenure, as Chief Conductor with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra through until 2019.
"There's something about their energy and their commitment …. they love what they're doing and . . . I find it intensely rewarding," Sir Andrew has said, of the orchestra.
He currently, in addition serves as Music Director and Principal Conductor of Lyric Opera of Chicago - and Conductor Laureate of both the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
