St Louis Symphony to Hold Benefit Concert in Support of Tornado Recovery Efforts
The concert will operate a pay-what-you-can model, with all funds being donated to recovery efforts
The St Louis Symphony Orchestra (SLSO) has announced that it will hold a concert fundraiser in support of the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, which has undertaken significant work in the ongoing relief, recovery, and rebuilding efforts following the hugely destructive tornado on May 16, 2025.
Held at local venue The Fabulous Fox, the event will take place at 3 PM (Local time) on Sunday, June 29, 2025. The SLSO will appear alongside community choruses, as well as the GRAMMY Award-winning gospel and R&B singer BeBe Winans.
Audience members will be able to pay whatever they can afford for tickets, which are available here. All funds raised will go to Urban League’s Disaster Relief Fund, which supports the most immediate needs of people displaced or impacted in North St. Louis. Some money will also be distributed to partner churches in the SLSO's IN UNISON program, since nine of these churches have suffered serious damage.
The program includes Barber's Adagio for Strings, Florence Price's Adoration, and John Williams's Hymn to the Fallen, among other items.
"This special concert honors and assists our friends and neighbors in need, while supporting the vital work of the Urban League in the aftermath of the May 16 tornado," said Marie-Hélène Bernard, SLSO President and CEO. "The effort fortifies years of collaboration with the Urban League to uplift the community."
"In the wake of the recent tornadoes that have impacted our community, it’s imperative that we come together to support those affected," said Jeff Antrainer, The Fabulous Fox President and CFO. "We hope this event will not only raise essential funds but also uplift the spirits of our neighbors during this challenging time."
