The Staatskapelle Berlin has today announced the appointment of 26-year-old Jiyoon Lee as its new tenured 1st Concertmaster.
A graduate of the Korean National University of Arts and Berlin’s Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler, Jiyoon is a former prize winner at the Carl Nielsen, David Oistrakh, Indianapolis and Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competitions.
She has been leading the ensemble under probation since September of last year, the opera house has indicated.
