Missing Cello Bow in Philadelphia

STOLEN ALERT — Missing Cello Bow

A Morizot L. (Freres) cello bow stamped “Tourte” went missing at Philadelphia International Airport on June 21, 2024

As reported by The Violin Society of America, a Morizot L. (Freres) cello bow stamped with “Tourte” has gone missing. The bow was in a Protec bow case with black canvas cover and handles with a red interior.

The bow and case went missing at Philadelphia International Airport on June 21, 2024.

“Since it was lost in the airport, the bow could be anywhere by now,” the report reads.

Below are the bow’s certification papers and images from Jean-Francois Raffin, Yannick Le Canau, and Sylvain Bigot — experts at the courts of appeal of Paris, Douai & Lyon. Its appraisal was made by Robert Cauer in Los Angeles.
