Semi-Finalists Announced for USA's 2018 Stulberg International String Competition
The 12 semi-finalists have been announced for the 2018 43rd Stulberg International String Competition
The 12 semi-finalists have been announced for the 2018 43rd Stulberg International String Competition – to be held in Kalamazoo, Michigan, USA from the 17th to the 18th May.
The 2018 semifinalists are:
- Maya Anjali Buchanan (17, Violin)
- Andrew Byun (19, Cello)
- Eric Chen (16, Violin)
- Mei Hotta (15, Cello)
- Josh Kail (18, Viola)
- Nathan Le (18, Cello)
- La Li (15, Cello)
- Charlotte Marckx (15, Violin)
- Kei Otake (19, Cello)
- Hannah Song (17, Violin)
- Sophia Su (16, Viola)
- William Suh (18, Cello)
Open to violinists, violists, cellists and bassists of any nationality aged 19 or under and who are not current students of the 2018 judges, the 1st prize winner will receive USD $6,000 – and a number of domestic concerto performance opportunities.

Former prize winners include Joshua Bell, Soovin Kim, Rachel Barton Pine and Jennifer Koh – and VC Artists Zeyu Victor Li, Zlatomir Fung, Matthew Lipman and Benjamin Beilman.
The 2018 jury will comprise: Aaron Dworkin, Anthony Ross and Scott St John.
