Australia's Tasmanian Symphony Extends Conductor Marko Letonja Through to 2021
The Tasmanian Symphony has announced the contract extension of Chief Conductor and Artistic Director Marko Letonja
The Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, in Hobart, Australia has announced the contract extension of Slovenian-born Chief Conductor and Artistic Director Marko Letonja – through until the end of the 2021 season.
The new engagement will see the 56-year-old return three times annually to the ensemble - to lead both orchestral and operatic programmes.
“Marko’s charismatic conducting style and excellence in repertoire selection have forged a remarkable connection with both the orchestra and our audience...” Tasmanian Symphony Managing Director Nicholas Heyward has said.
