American bluegrass fiddler and composer Benjamin 'Tex' Logan has passed away from renal failure – aged 85.

His career collaborators included Mike Seeger, The Lilly Brothers, Don Stover, Peter Rowan and the Bee Gees – his most noted works including 'Christmas Time's A-Coming', recorded by Bill Monroe and Johnny Cash and 'Diamond Joe', made popular by Bob Dylan.

Our condolences are with Mr Logan's family, friends and colleagues.
