Cleveland Orchestra to Host 44th Annual Concert in Honor of Martin Luther King Jr.
Taking place on January 14, 2024, the concert features violinist Amaryn Olmeda, composer Allison Loggins-Hull, and more
The Cleveland Orchestra will once again hold their popular annual concert in celebration of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scheduled for January 14, 2024 at 7pm, the concert will be led by the orchestra's assistant conductor Daniel Reith.
Alongside the orchestra, the concert will feature the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Chorus, which is comprised entirely of volunteers from the community and is directed by Dr. William Henry Caldwell.
The young violinist Amaryn Olmeda, who won the Sphinx Competition in 2021 at just 12 years old, will make her Cleveland Orchestra debut in a performance of Ravel's Tzigane.
Another highlight is Can You See?, a work by Allison Loggins-Hull, the orchestra's Composer Fellow.

In 2024, the concert also celebrates the 60th anniversary of the passing of the Civil Rights Act 1964 — which prohibited discrimination based on race, religion, sex, or national origin.
