The Cliburn Competition Announces Partnership with Apple Music Classical
All performances from the competition will be made available on the streaming service, and medalists will each release a disc on the Platoon label
The Van Cliburn International Piano Competition has announced a new partnership with the streaming service Apple Music Classical and with its record label, Platoon.
As a result of this partnership, all live performances from the 2025 edition of the competition will be available to listen to within days on the Apple Music Classical app, in the service's flagship Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos.
In addition, each of the three medalists from the 2025 competition will record an album, which will be released on the Platoon label later in 2025.
Apple Music Classical has also released several Cliburn-curated playlists, which feature performances from previous Cliburn medalists, as well as Van Cliburn himself.
The 2025 edition of the Cliburn competition is taking place between May 21 and June 7, and is being streamed LIVE on The Violin Channel.
Boasting the world's largest classical music catalog, Apple Music Classical also offers the highest quality audio out of any streaming service.
Its major point of difference is its search engine, which has been designed especially for classical music. Users can search by composer, work, conductor, orchestra, instrument, or opus number.
In addition, more than 50,000 album booklets are available, featuring detailed program notes as well as texts and translations for vocal works. Apple Music Classical is available at no extra cost to Apple Music subscribers.
