The Cliburn Launches its Boutique Artist Management Firm
The new Cliburn Agency will offer comprehensive general management, concert booking, project management, and publicity services to select artists
The Cliburn advances classical piano music worldwide most notably through its Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, which will next take place in 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas.
The organization has today launched the Cliburn Agency, a boutique management firm that will select emerging and established instrumentalists of high artistic caliber in the piano field and beyond.
The launching roster of the Cliburn Agency will comprise the Anderson & Roe Piano Duo; pianists Greg Anderson, Peter Dugan, Clayton Stephenson, and Fei-Fei; and harpist Bridget Kibbey.
These artists will partner with the Cliburn to further enhance their careers and impact through innovative programming, projects, concerts, and community engagement efforts.
"From intriguing programming and projects to alternative concerts and community engagement, these touring musicians are dedicated to connection and creativity," Cliburn’s President and CEO, Jacques Marquis shared with The Violin Channel.
As the Cliburn has provided its competition’s winners with three years of career management and concert bookings, the Cliburn Agency will likewise continue this support to artists through general management.
The Agency’s roster will benefit from the Cliburn’s decades of experience providing artists management services; long-standing relationships with industry leaders, artists, presenters, and journalists; an international network; and large online reach with followers worldwide.
“The Cliburn Agency is a compelling expansion of the Cliburn’s brand and impact,” said Marquis. “Our core mission is to support artists and continuously advance classical music.
“The management and promotion of exceptional musicians — particularly those with a specific fervor and dedication for expanding audiences and breaking down barriers — is the next step in realizing that mission,” Marquis added. “Through this new program, the Cliburn develops another powerful way to meet the moment and find new ways to expand classical music’s reach as a source of commonality and shared experience in today’s world.”
