The Music School of Delaware Names New President & CEO

Stephen Beaudoin will take over as President & CEO of The Music School of Delaware in February 2024

Following the retirement of Kate Ransom, The Music School of Delaware recently announced that Stephen Beaudoin will serve as its next President & CEO

Founded in 1924, the community music school serves residents of Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland.

Beaudoin comes to the school from a position as the Executive Director of South Orange Performing Arts Center in New Jersey, where he implemented a new strategic plan and spearheaded significant increases in revenue.

Prior to this, Beaudoin was Executive Director of The Washington Chorus, a GRAMMY Award-winning choral ensemble based at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Here, he prioritized commissions for composers of color and introduced a number of modern initiatives such as the "songs on demand" digital program.

Beaudoin has served on the boards of TEDxPortland, the Nonprofit Association of Oregon, Oregon Humanities, and on the Executive Council of the National Composer Diversity Project. Originally a tenor, he holds an undergraduate degree in vocal performance from the New England Conservatory and received his MBA from the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business.

"I’m incredibly humbled and very excited to step forward as The Music School of Delaware’s next President and CEO," Beaudoin said. "This opportunity feels very alive to me, and very aligned with my values and the kind of impact I hope to make in the world today: leveraging music and creativity to connect communities and support people in realizing their fullest potential."

"I look forward to working with the entire community — Music School faculty, board, staff, supporters, and community partners, as well as all the new friends we’ll make in the months and years to come — to help steward the Music School into its next century of positive impact."

"Stephen brings a wealth of experience and dedication that will position the school for another 100 years of success," said Richard Facciolo, the Chair of The Music School of Delaware's Board of Directors. "The entire school community is very excited to have such talent join the school and share in continuing our mission."
